Assumption High School joins the iamninoy Campaign
The Basic Education Division of the Assumption College
High School is having their first Inter-Disciplinary Learning
Fair on September 30, 2008 at the San Lorenzo Village
campus in Makati City. The theme for this noteworthy event
is ACBayan: A Celebration of Local and Global Communities.
In a bid to make nationalism more relevant and meaningful
to todays youth, the Social Studies Department
has partnered with the Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. Foundation
to promote Ninoy Aquinos values, beliefs and legacy
through the iamninoy campaign.
One of the notable activities is the living museum
conceptualized and created by Assumption students to
showcase modern-day heroes who exemplify the principles
of Ninoy. Students will be asked to demonstrate and
explain how the contributions of their chosen hero can
lead to a better Philippines.
The highlight of the event is a talk by Mr. Lino Rivera,
Executive Director of the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Center
for Leadership, to share his thoughts on Ninoys
legacy as well as to expound on the iamninoy campaign and the advocacy it represents.
A booth will be set up to promote iamninoy retail merchandise and present the various organizations
that are the beneficiaries of the yearlong project. |
