iamninoy Rosary Bracelets for Hannah

Ninoy Aquino's deep devotion to the Holy Rosary began when he was incarcerated and thrown into solitary confinement. In his darkest moments, Ninoy sought peace of mind and soul by praying the Rosary. In an article written by President Cory Aquino in 2002, for a 'collective' book dedicated to Cardinal Sin, she related,

"...Ninoy and I were both devotees of Our Lady of Fatima and her Rosary. We took, and I still take seriously, her appeal for us to pray the daily Rosary. I would try to pray the fifteen mysteries everyday but Ninoy [in prison] would pray as many as 50 rosaries a day.
Our FAITH in the power of the Rosary prayer made us discover and then accept God's plan for us and brought us HOPE as we surrendered ourselves to His will, motivated by His LOVE for us.

This surrender of our lives to God's designs prepared us for whatever sacrifice the Good Lord demanded from us. The entrustment of our lives to Mary's Immaculate Heart came with an unconditional love, a resignation to undergo personal sacrifice in accord with the will of God. It is a heart to heart relationship, love for love, our love in response to the greater love of God.

Ninoy said: "In FAITH, I discovered hope, and with HOPE, I survived." But at the end, he did not survive. Instead, he surrendered his life with LOVE. "There is no greater love than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." He fell to the ground with his arms outstretched, to embrace the ultimate sacrifice, for love of his country and for the Filipino who, he said, is worth dying for.

So Ninoy's faith led him to discover hope and his hope gave him the strength to surrender his life in loving sacrifice, a personal sacrifice for the people he loved. Thus, he lived and died in spirit of Fatima."

Beyond Ninoy, other people have their own testimonies of the transformative power of the Holy Rosary.

For Carlo and Joan Cordoviz their devotion to the Holy Rosary became very real when their only daughter Hannah was born a year ago. Hannah is suffering from CCHS or Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome. It is a rare and lifetime condition characterized by one's brain failing to signal the body to breathe. In Hannah's case, her brain fails to do so when she falls asleep. To keep her breathing, she needs to be hooked to a mechanical ventilator/respirator, which connects to her through a tracheostomy tube found in an opening in her neck (find out more: http://hannahysabelle.multiply.com). Hannah still doesn't have her own mechanical ventilator, so Carlo and Joan are renting one for her.

Forced to resign from their jobs, the young couple was confronted with the uncertainty of how they can finance the care that Hannah needed to live. In a previous post I related that Joan and Carlo together with Joan's mother did not despair. They have started to address their situation by bringing others closer to the Lord. They chose to make and give rosaries to those who extend their kindness and generosity for Hannah. In their website Carlo said,

"Joan and I decided on the rosaries as our mission and devotion to spread the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mama Mary to everyone. The rosaries are also our own way of repaying your generosity and kindness to our family. Because we have faith that we can bring so many people closer to God and bring so much blessings into their lives through these rosaries."

In an email to us, Carlo expounded on this overwhelming feeling of gratitude,

"We are truly in awe at God's love for Hannah ...Filipinos are truly branches and leaves of one big giving tree. And the fruits that this tree shares with people in need truly humbles us."

In solidarity with Carlo and Joan, we seek your help to ease the heavy burden on this young couple by getting your own iamninoy Rosary Bracelets for Hannah thru a donation of Php 100.00. All the proceeds of these donations will go to help the Cordoviz family defray the cost of giving Hannah the gift of a Life!

The testimonies of Ninoy and Cory, as well as Carlo and Joan are just two of many other stories of God's undeniable Love for each one of us. When you get your bracelet, don't just wear it, use it! Let us pray for each other!
